The reputed ladies’ man of Purgatory Springs, Sal Pinelli has a bark worse than his bite. True, he hits on every attractive woman crossing his path, but he rarely seals the deal. He works the x-ray machines at the tuberculosis sanatorium, using skills he learned as a field medic. Despite his suave exterior, the horrors of the Great War are never far from Sal’s mind and he grapples daily with gruesome flashbacks and violent mood swings. Nevertheless, Sal is a big hit with the female patients and the local showgirls.
